About me

Your health is crucial to your survival and important to those who rely upon you. Mental health is real and solutions are attainable. You may be experiencing something completely new or maybe what bothers you has grown into something more than you feel you can readily handle on your own. Perhaps you’ve made great strides but could use some support with what is presently happening in your life. You owe it to yourself, and those who depend upon you, to make the most of your life. There really is only one you and I believe that you can make your life better.

It may not be easy. Cognitive behavioral therapy can be a useful tool in guiding a new outlook on life. My specialty areas are anxiety, depression, grief and loss, survivors of assault and adult survivors of childhood abuse. I also work with people experiencing behavioral health issues related to medical condition(s). Therapy with me would involve safety, building your strengths and slowly using those skills in the real world. Right now, you may not feel that you can get there. That will be my role to support you in your journey.

A bit about me so you know:
• I’m a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). This means I graduated with a master’s degree in social work (MSW) from an accredited university, spent two years post-
graduate in practice with supervision, oversight and learning. I keep up to date with current practices through continuing education throughout the year.
• My undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Science with a double major in social work and psychology and an additional focus in gerontology
• I’ve got 30 years’ experience working with people in medical settings, non-profit settings, with treatment teams, groups and directly with a single person in the room
allowing me the privileged position of serving as their guide until their strength was strong.

Reach out to me about possible weekend appointment availability. We can make that happen.

Ms. Alicia is awesome. She draws me out and challenges me which is exactly what I need. My last therapist would just let me talk in circles for the entire hour and after several weeks nothing had changed at all.

Alicia Jackson is a kind, caring, empathetic, and supportive therapist. I sought her out as my mom entered hospice and she has been a tremendous help for me as I navigate life without my mom now. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for some extra help!
